Overlander Horseboxes – A Summer to Remember and Plenty More to Come
As another busy summer begins to draw to a close, the team at Overlander Horseboxes has been reflecting on what has been a fantastic few months travelling the length and breadth of Ireland, supporting equestrian sport, meeting customers and, most importantly, seeing so many Overlander Horseboxes out doing exactly what they were built to do.
From eventing and showing to some of the biggest dates in the Irish equestrian calendar, it has been a summer that perfectly reflects what Overlander is all about – horses, people, performance and a genuine passion for Irish equestrian sport.
Supporting Irish Equestrian Sport
One of the real highlights of the summer has been our continued involvement with the Overlander Eventing Ireland Leinster League.
Eventing represents so much of what we value as a brand – determination, horsemanship, performance and the incredible partnership between horse and rider. Throughout the season, we have loved following competitors as they travelled from event to event and seeing the Overlander name alongside some fantastic competition.
Our summer also took us into the showing world, including a brilliant day at the Wicklow Summer Show, where showing and eventing came together to demonstrate just how varied and vibrant the Irish equestrian community is.
From beautifully turned-out show horses and ponies to event horses heading across country, these events are ultimately about the same thing: people who are passionate about their horses and their sport.
And those are exactly the people Overlander is proud to support.
Seeing Overlanders in the Wild
There is always something particularly satisfying about arriving at an equestrian event and seeing Overlander Horseboxes dotted around the lorry and horsebox parks.
For our team, these aren’t simply vehicles we’ve sold – they represent customers, horses and journeys.
Some are heading to their first competition. Others are carrying experienced combinations chasing another win. Some belong to professional riders, while others are transporting much-loved family horses and ponies for a weekend away.
Whatever the destination, seeing our horseboxes being used throughout Ireland remains one of the best advertisements we could ask for.
It also gives us the opportunity to catch up with customers, hear their feedback and see first-hand how their Overlanders fit into everyday equestrian life.
A Summer of Sport, Shows and Great People
The Irish equestrian calendar is incredibly diverse, and this summer has once again reminded us why supporting different areas of the sport is so important to Overlander.
Showing, eventing, showjumping, dressage and racing may all look very different on competition day, but behind them are the same early mornings, long journeys, dedication and commitment.
Overlander is proud to be a brand that sits right at the heart of that community.
Of course, the summer wouldn’t be complete without the many conversations we’ve had along the way – from existing customers calling in to say hello to people stepping inside an Overlander for the first time and discovering what makes our horseboxes different.
Those conversations are a huge part of why we attend and support equestrian events around Ireland.
And We’re Not Finished Yet…
While summer may be drawing to a close, there is still plenty on the Overlander agenda.
Next up, we’re swapping the show ring and cross-country course for the excitement of the racecourse as we head to The Curragh for Day Two of the Irish Champions Festival on Sunday, 13 September, where, in partnership with Tattersalls Ireland we are presenting the winner of the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Stakes 2026 with An Overlander 240 for 12 months.
It promises to be one of the highlights of the Irish racing calendar, with an exceptional programme featuring four Group 1 races, including the Comer Group International Irish St Leger – the fifth and final Irish Classic of the season.
For Overlander, it’s another opportunity to celebrate a different part of Ireland’s extraordinary equestrian industry.
From sport horses and show horses to some of the finest thoroughbreds in the world, our passion has always extended across the wider equestrian community – and Champions Weekend is the perfect place to continue what has already been a memorable summer.
See You at The Curragh!
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our summer – our customers, sponsored riders and ambassadors, event organisers, competitors and all those who stopped to chat to the Overlander team along the way.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who continues to choose an Overlander to transport their horses.
The summer might be nearly over, but the Overlander calendar certainly isn’t.
Next stop: The Curragh.
We look forward to seeing plenty of familiar faces – and, hopefully, plenty of Overlander Horseboxes – at Irish Champions Festival.
Overlander Horseboxes – built for the journey, wherever your horses take you next.
